Today was quite a day – the LEEDO Peace Home was filled with activity – from drawing, painting, to making and preparing for dance performances, poetry recitals, to learning about how to grow various plants. With more than 60 people being involved in some shape or form to help realise the completion of this small project – it truly was an engaged, participatory and collaborative. A challenge we put ourselves.
We will write a thorough feedback about the work we have been doing there, in the meanwhile, we want to Thank Team Mritikka, LEEDO staff, Badshah bhai and his team for the construction of the Bamboo platform and stage, the additional volunteers that have supported the team and to all our friends and colleagues who came, gave input, provided critique and support and the amazing day labourers who prepared the grounds with soil and compost for planting.
The day was structured to add the final touches to the interior, develop little additions for the garden and begin the planting. The day ended with performances by the children on their new performance space.
